The administration in the City of Montgomery, AL, had a vision. And now, the staff is on a quest. How good a level of customer service can Montgomery provide to its citizens? The sky may truly be the limit.

"Nothing makes your management, your elected officials, your mayor happier than...[the] accolades that they're getting. That's what we like to get,"  said Steve Jones, director, Emergency Management Agency in Montgomery.

Earning Recognition

Town of Littleton, Massachusetts
For three years running, the Town of Littleton, MA, has been recognized by the commonwealth with a Common Cause award, most recently with distinction, for its openness and transparency of its local government.

"The e-government award with distinction this year...was truly a group effort," said Glencross. "With each department contributing to their own Web page with news, agendas and minutes, and even photos, it really became their own site as well as the town site."

Improving through Change

Town of Durham, Connecticut
Former Town Clerk and current First Selectwoman Laura Francis has done big things with citizen service in this small town.

"The staff at QScend has helped me learn more about how websites are run, and actually, they've even gone above and beyond what they should be doing by teaching me a lot about editing and formatting, things that I probably should have known before I started this endeavor…I'm very grateful for the time and the patience the staff has taken with me," said Francis.
